Dr. Marja-Riitta Taskinen’s main interest has been lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, and her long series of original and important observations have contributed significantly to the understanding of lipoprotein abnormalities, genetics, and the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, the metabolic syndrome, and genetic dyslipidemias.
