A powerful tool
The MyHealthyWaist app is loaded with valuable information. It features virtually all the content from the website, including a complete catalogue of cardiometabolic research and expertise. Plus, it comes with the iBook by doctor Jean-Pierre Després, professor at Université Laval and Director of Research in cardiology at the Centre de recherche de l’Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec. And to make your life easier, the app is equipped with an exclusive new tool that automatically calculates patients’ risk level after each visit.
Comprehensive and effective
Simple risk assessment
To use the risk assessment tool, simply enter patients’ names, consultation dates and any relevant clinical information. In just an instant, the tool will calculate and display the level of cardiometabolic risk for each patient. It’s as simple as that. You can then save the results, print them or send them to your clinic. And thanks to an in-built search function, you can rapidly find any patient’s data at the touch of a screen.
In order to generate patient risk levels, MyHealthyWaist uses 21 algorithms and variables covering 5 different categories:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Blood pressure
- Obesity/Body fat distribution/Ectopic fat
- Lifestyle habits
Each algorithm specifies:
- Risk categories
- Data needed to make the calculation
- Exclusion criteria
- How to interpret the results
- Referenced methodology used to develop the algorithm
- Bibliographic sources and relevant links on myhealthywaist.org
- Useful tips on healthy eating and physical activity
